Chivalry 2 Tips and Tricks

With the right Chivalry 2 tips and tricks, you’ll be able to not only carve a path through the battlefield, but also make a name for yourself. The chaos of medieval warfare can make it look as though there’s no rhyme or reason to the combat whatsoever, but you’re going to want to embrace that if you want to get good at the game.

Chivalry 2 Tips and Tricks

Each of these is aimed mostly at beginners, but no matter what level you’re at, everyone can benefit from going over these Chivalry 2 tips and tricks. In case you’re a complete beginner, we’re going to give you a free one: do the tutorial. Chivalry 2 has a lot of controls to learn when you factor in things like feints, and the specific way you should use your camera to attack, so learn it well. With that out of the way, let’s get into the Chivalry 2 tips and tricks

Mess around with every class

There are four classes in Chivalry 2, and each of them has different strengths, weaknesses, and weapons. It’s a good idea to switch between them all fairly regularly, even if you do have a preference. That’s mostly because as you level up the individual classes, you’ll unlock yet more weapons along with subclasses that might fit you even better. Also another bonus tip: try playing on a controller if you can’t get the hang of doing so on mouse and keyboard.

Do not fear death

You’re going to die and lose a lot of fights, and that’s okay. Chivalry 2 isn’t about winning every fight; it’s about winning the overall battle or war that you’re taking part in. That means that you’re going to have to throw away some lives by charging into battle recklessly to try and help a teammate survive an attack from four opponent’s, and it also means that you’re going to die to better players here and there too. Don’t fear the reaper.

Don’t be a hero

Now, while we do recommend occasionally jumping into the fray to help out teammates, it’s also important to understand that you really shouldn’t be trying to take on multiple opponents on your own. When you’re running into battle, it’ll usually be shoulder-to-shoulder with teammates; try to stay near them to avoid being overwhelmed by cowardly foes who are trying to use their numbers to their advantage. Try also not to think about how they’re cowards for using their numbers, and you’re just very clever for using yours.

Block, kick, attack

Most melee battles will consist of you and your opponent taking turns to block and attack. You can break out of this stalemate by trading two rounds of that, before you kick instead of attack. Kicking will break a block, and you can then immediately follow up with an attack. If you’re feeling really brave, a lot of players will then try and attack after that, so you can then jab them to open them up to yet another follow-up strike. The key to being good at Chivalry 2 is paying attention, but people also tend to react in similar ways, so having a few useful patterns of movements memorised in your head is good practice.

Archers are a support class

Archers are a much-decried class in Chivalry 2, but that doesn’t change the fact that a good archer can change the tide of a battle. However, you have to keep in mind that archers are a support class. That means you should target them if they’re on the other team, and protect them if they’re on yours. It also means that, in the event you’re an archer, you should hold back from the main battle and take shots to assist your side of the battle. You should be shooting at people about to strike your side, because an arrow to the side of the head stops most attacks before they land, and it’ll add extra pressure and stress to the opposing team even if you don’t land a killing blow.
