Organs Please

You decide who escapes Earth in Organs Please

Organs Please is an obvious riff on Lucas Pope’s Papers, Please, where you take the unenviable role of an immigration officer deciding on the fate of folks looking to cross the borders. Aside from the names, the similarities also extend to how Organs Please is played, albeit with a darkly satirical twist; for Organs Please, you’ll also be assuming a role of authority—an Overseer of a human recycling factory—where you’ll be in charge of allowing the few lucky—and possibly healthy—humans left on Earth to escape the dying planet via a cozy spaceship as a factory employee.

Those who don’t make it? Well, they get crushed into mush, turned into canned food, and their organs harvested.

Here you’ll be screening visitors who are desperate enough to leave the planet at any cost, and their fate ultimately lies with what you see in their x-ray findings, their particulars, their disposition and even their profession on Earth. Folks who earn your favour can be hired as staff for the factory, where the hardest workers can join the ranks of other employees who are just too relieved for the opportunity to be another cog in the machine.

There’s also a management sims aspect to Organs Please as well, where you’ll need to manage the resources in the factory, upgrade the research facilities for a more robust operation, and ensure the healthiest of profits for happy shareholders. Capitalism doesn’t take a break just because humanity is doomed, after all.

Organs Please will be released some time this year.
