Explore, craft and survive in this adorable space adventure
Surviving and chilling don’t really go together but that’s exactly what you can expect from Chibig Studio’s upcoming adventure game. Ankora: Last Days expands on the universe Chibig Studio started with their cozy rpg games, Deiland and Summer in Mara back in 2018. Though newcomers should be fine jumping into Ankora without having played previous games.
You’ll play as the highly resourceful Mûn, a junior ranger from the Interstellar Patrol who finds herself stranded on Ankora, a wild unknown planet. Deserted and alone, Mûn will need to rely on her crafting and survival skills to persevere the planet’s ever-changing terrain and dangers that lurk around. Surviving requires exploring the planet and interacting with itANkoras inhabitants and hunting for resources to craft tools and weapons.
Ankora’s varied terrains and biomes present its own set of challenges. You’ll craft terraforming tools like a hammer and shovel to build structures and modify terrains around you. Though it’s not all calm and chill as monsters are aplenty but you’ll have your trusty bow and spike to fend them off. As the game goes on Mûn will level up, unlocking more crafting recipes and skills to better her chances of surviving.
For all the stress and terror survival games put you through, Ankora: Lost Days seems to be a different breed. Its Studio Ghibli inspired visuals are colorful and adorable and the gameplay leans toward self-paced exploration that’s comfy and relaxing. If you’re looking for a break from terrifying and nerve-racking survival games, Ankora might be one to keep an eye on.
Ankora: Lost Days will arrive in September 2022 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox consoles.
