Check Out Dap, A Horror-Infused Pikmin Game

Pikmin is one of those games that’s surprisingly hard to emulate. Despite it being a game about cute little plant creatures you yeet at enemies, the specifics of the mechanics are actually quite complex, and there’s also that constant underlying feeling that everything’s a little bit wrong, which is only deepened when you realise it’s probably set on Earth long after some kind of apocalypse. However, you can always be a little more overt with your horror theming, and that’s basically where Dap comes in.

Dap is a game that tasks you with guiding tiny ghost-like creatures through a horrifying and messed up world. You see, while the forest used to be calm, something horrifying and eldritch has started to influence it, and it means that not only is the forest in danger, but reality itself. It’s a tall task, but one that you’re going to have to overcome with the power of your little Daps, just don’t expect it to be easy, or in any way heart-warming given how utterly creepy the trailer is.

If this sounds like the kind of thing that revs your engine (a loud car just drove past and I’m both easily influenced and easily distracted), then you’ll be very glad to learn that not only does Dap have a release date tailer now, one that’s worth watching, but that the release date is pretty soon.
