Röki Is Coming To PS5 And Xbox Series X/S

Röki released all the way back in July of 2020 on PC. Depending on how time’s been going for you, that’ll either feel like it was several decades ago, or last week. So, it might not be too far from your memory anyway, especially given how good the game is, and how many websites gave it the attention it very much deserves. However, despite being out for a while, it’s not yet come to the new-gen of consoles.

Röki is a beautiful game that has you journeying through an icy world, solving puzzles, and meeting peculiar beings as you go. You play as a character called Tove, who’s ended up on this adventure to try and save her family. There is a lot at stake here, but the aim of the game isn’t to be needlessly dark and depressing, but incredibly beautiful instead. That means that you’ll meet adorable creatures as you go, but all of them with be ever-so-slightly unsettling too, as is often the case in these kinds of fairy tales.

It’s all based on Nordic folklore, which means you’ll likely get the chance to experience myths you’ve never heard of before, or ones you may know of, but in a completely different light. There’s no hyper-violence here, just you, Tove, a beautiful world, and some brain-achingly complicated puzzles. It’s a really special game, and if you’ve not given it a chance because you’ve been waiting for it to hit PS5 and the Xbox Series X and Series S, then you’ll be happy to know that it’s doing so on October 28th.
