Far: Lone Sails on course for Steam release
Award winning post apocalyptic adventure showing at Rezzed next month.
FAR: Lone Sails is a vehicle adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world: The player traverses a dried-out seabed littered with the remains of a decaying civilization. To keep their unique vessel going, they need to overcome numerous obstacles and withstand the hazardous weather conditions, never knowing how far they will be able to make it or what they will find.
While exploring the desolate, yet strangely appealing world, the player follows the trails of their people and finds relics and buildings, that tell the story of a civilization on the run. No zombies ahead, but true desolation manifests itself more subtly than slashing away at the undead – it’s only you and your machine vs. the big nothing.
While the game’s backdrop is rather melancholic, its extraordinary audio-visual design coupled with the challenging yet intuitive gameplay of vehicle management and environmental puzzles make for a wholesome gaming experience: Passages of sailing along peacefully alternate with more demanding situations that call for quick wits and thoughtful management of resources. In the end, the game may leave you either contemplative or eager to head into the unknown yourself.
The game will be shown in it’s beta form at Rezzed in London next month. Full release is set for the 17th of May, and you can add FAR: Lone Sails to your Steam wishlist now.
