WoW and League of Legends veterans announce Rend
Battle for survival in a vast, beautiful world.
Frostkeep Studios, a new independent studio in Irvine, California, has announced Rend, an upcoming fantasy survival game.
Rend has both PvP and PvE, player factions, RPG elements, and massive battles never before seen in other survival games. There are three factions you can join in Rend, each engaged in all-out war against one another.
Players also have the option to choose how they want to interact with the world. Whether players want to play a non-combat gathering role, or play as an assassin, hunter, or soldier, you have the opportunity to choose how you play.
Each faction’s objective is to collect souls for their divinity stone. Once one faction’s divinity stone has been given enough souls, that faction is declared the winner. If the divinity stone is destroyed, then that faction is wiped out.
Every week, there will be an event called the Reckoning, during which the shields protecting the divinity stones will lower. Players must join forces to protect their base or attack the enemy base, but the enemy creatures – the Lost – will grow stronger as well!
Rend’s other features include dynamic environments with weather, a vast and beautiful game world, base building, and talent and skill trees, and custom server options.
According to Jeremy Wood, CEO and co-founder of Frostkeep Studios, “We are huge fans of the survival genre and are delivering an in-game experience that the community and our own team wants to play. We value player feedback and want them involved from the very beginning so they can influence the future direction of Rend as it heads into early access this year.”
