This futuristic 2.5D shooter supports up to 10 players fighting in gravity shifting arenas.
Spanish indie developers at Catness Game Studios released today their 2.5D gravity-based shooter Hive: Altenum Wars on to Playstation 4, while its PC version remains within Steam’s Early Access. This innovative title focuses on gravitational shifts to provide an exciting competitive experience.
With a little resemblance to the Super Smash Bros. saga, Hive: Altenum Wars puts players in an arena-based shooting combat where physics play a major role, as gravity changes when stepping into new rooms and hexagon-shaped areas.
Futuristic style and frenetic gameplay is what Hive: Altenum Wars is all about, engaging users with its fast-paced gameplay and its unique 2.5D visuals. This title also contains a solo or co-op mode in which mobs of enemies must be eliminated in order to survive.
Its multiplayer modes range from Team Deathmatch to King of the Hill, with the promise of new modes and content coming soon. Each player will choose a hero (or “Hexadier”) from one of the several different factions from the game’s lore: human military (UFG), human modified by Altenum (NHC), robots (EVO), and evolved aliens (Aeons). Their motivation relies in the need to win these competitions in order to collect Altenum , a vital energy source for interspatial travelling in the XXVI century.
Up to 10 players can face themselves in this innovative shooter, choosing from a wide variety of characters with unique abilities to be used in maps divided into six different hexagonal areas, each with different gravitational settings.
