Someday You’ll Return gets reveal trailer

Psychological horror game teased in creepy new trailer.

Stela has a history of running away from home. You know your daugher is disturbed and takes every chance she can get to disappear. But still, you are worried. She is leading you on a hunt through a mysterious Czech forest, to a place which you promised yourself that you would never return. And you are in danger of uncovering secrets that you had hoped would remain buried forever.

Someday You’ll Return may be a year away from its release, but its reveal trailer already has us wanting more. For starters, the visuals on display in the video are atmospheric and eerily beautiful. Its combination of survival and supernatural horror in a forest may be tried and tested, but there are some more unusual elements here, with some interesting themes such as fatherhood and the lies that parents tell their children.

The studio behind Someday You’ll Return is CBE Software, responsible for point-and-click adventure game J.U.L.I.A. Among the Stars, an updated version of the first J.U.L.I.A., which received many good reviews. They are planning to release their newest game on PS4 and Xbox One in addition to PC. The game is inspired, as with many Eastern European game studios, by their local Slavic folklore (the studio are based in Czechia).
