Some people’s driving is scary, but this is something else.
Ever wondered what a horror game would be like if you were trapped in the confines of a car? I know what you’re thinking, but no, this isn’t Traffic Jam Simulator 2018, it’s Beware, an open-world driving simulation, and it looks pretty damn scary.
Beware is currently in early development and has just released a playable demo, which is available here for the curious. At its core, Beware aims to be a driving survival game where the player embarks on a long journey of information gathering through exploration. The horror tone is pretty clear, with dim lights barely visible through thick fog and tense glances out of the rear view mirror reviling shadowy pursuers. With a similar 70’s movie style to iconic car games such as Driver it goes without saying you can expect foot to the fall car chases alongside clandestine pursuits.
The most interesting aspects currently being teased by the developers is the idea of this being a fully open world game with challenging AI opponents and the ability to use stealth to remain undetected and explore the environment undisturbed.
All in all it looks pretty terrifying and as you can see from YouTuber, Ray Fields gameplay footage above it gets pretty intense. Beware doesn’t currently have a release date, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more.
