Death and madness await you.
Developer Blini Games have announced that Lovecraft’s Untold Stories, an action RPG inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s works will be coming to Steam Early Access at the end of June.
Players can expect a fast-paced, pixel-art inspired rogue-like that tasks you with exploring randomly generated levels based on Lovecraftian themes. You’ll fight cultists and a multitude of monsters from the Lovecraft universe, improving your skills, weapons, and gear, whilst looking for clues about the mysterious Old Ones and the Outer Gods.
This isn’t just a straight forward kill mission though, there will be optional approaches available to the player. The path you choose to subvert The Old One’s plans is yours to choose – violence may not always be the answer. Will you search for clues and information to stop the cultists before they summon the Outer Gods, or will you just slaughter everything on your way, until there’s nothing left to invoke the cosmic horrors on to our world?
The developers state that core gameplay will be in place for the games Early Access release with players having access to one character – namely the detective – five levels and one boss to begin with. The remaining content will be added in updates over the three to four months it takes to transitions the game into full release.
Lovecraft’s Untold Stories enters Steam Early Access June 22.
