Card battler Insane Robots is out on PS4
Award winning indie studio Playniac has also scheduled releases for Xbox One, PC and Mac OS.
Award winning indie studio Playniac has released today its innovative robot-themed card battling game Insane Robots for Playstation 4. This game will also be available for Xbox One, Windows and Mac OS through the next couple of days. Insane Robots prides itself of having avoided cumbersome gameplay mechanics like “expensive card expansions, time-consuming customization, farming, and an ever-rising bar that excludes players who don’t purchase more cards”.
Insane Robots tells the story of a mechanic world reigned by a despotic leader and a population of malfunctioning robots yearning for freedom. In order to accomplish that, these cute and funny little beings must fight each other in a card-combat based game set in a random generated world filled with hexagonal tiles until only one remains.

With a single-player campaign counting with 15+ hours of gameplay, Insane Robots has gained praise for its innovative approach to the card-battle genre, while also adding both local and online multiplayer challenges.
As Playniac informed through their latest press release, Insane Robots includes the following key features:
- This is card battling HACKED with no costly expansions and time-consuming customization
- Compete in intense local and online ranked 2P multiplayer battles
- Experience the epic 15+ hour single-player campaign, overthrow the megalomaniacal Kernel and save robotkind
- Unlock 46 robots and find over 100 augments to boost their abilities
- Explore your tactical options to survive randomly generated survival arenas
- Master the 22-token battle deck and define your own style of play
- A compelling narrative with over 150 branching story events
Interesting to note is how this “Hearthstone meets The Hunger Games” mix called Insane Robots was originated. The creators of this game have revealed that their original idea came up as a result of a tabletop prototype with a pile of old business cards. Creativity and inspiration are two traits that Playniac can be proud of owning.
Insane Robots, launches today for PlayStation 4 with Standard ($19.99 USD) and Deluxe ($32.99 USD) editions available for purchase on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. The robot rebellion will proceed as planned, also launching for Windows and Mac (via Steam) on July 12, and Xbox One on July 13.
