Torchlight Frontiers announced

Surprise, the series isn’t extinguished after all.

Perfect World Entertainment recently announced the next iteration in the award-winning Torchlight universe, Torchlight Frontiers is in the works by Echtra Games.

This new addition to the shared-world action-RPG series hopes to bring back many of the franchise’s signature features. Torchlight Frontiers will bring players together in a shared dynamic world in which they’ll team up to explore a vibrant and hostile world filled with dungeons.

The project will be led by Max Schaefer, co-creator of original Torchlight. After Runic Games was dissolved last year it was a longstanding dream of the team’s to revive the world of Torchlight.

“Evolving the Torchlight universe into a shared world has always been a goal for the franchise, and I’m excited that we’re finally able to make it a reality,” said Max Schaefer, CEO of Echtra Games.

Torchlight Frontiers will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation®4. A release date has not yet been announced.
