Encased reveals first gameplay video

Take a look a character creation, the prologue and more!

Developer Dark Crystal Games, creators behind Encased, have today revealed a new gameplay video for their upcoming old-school isometric post-apocalyptic RPG! The video will take you through a variety of core parts such as character creation, the games prologue section which showcases the game’s non-linear storytelling and responsiveness to player choice. Vyacheslav Kozikhin, head of the project at Dark Crystal Games, has this to say about the prologue section of the video and what the team was going for with the story.

“The prologue is our first available location. We want to show everyone not just how far we’ve progressed, but also how much variety and choice we’ve already built into our game. We’re telling a non-linear, choice-based and deeply immersive character story, where the player’s experience heavily depends on their alignment, their decisions, and their responses. Who they are, what they say, and what they do – in our world, they all matter.”

One of the biggest features in the game however is the faction system. Chose between one of the five factions or “Wings” of the CRONUS Foundation that the your protagonist will adhere to. Each of these factions comes with the own background, the likes of which include:

  • White Wing: scientists and researchers
  • Black Wing: paramilitary and security
  • Blue Wing: engineers and technicians
  • Silver Wing: middle and upper management
  • Orange Wing: ex-convicts who’ve swapped their prison jumpsuits for the uniform of a CRONUS labourer.

Be sure to check out the video above though for all the details and head over to the games KickStarter page if you want to support the games development!
