Astroneer release date announced for Xbox One and PC

Can you survive across the planets?

Astroneer, the interplanetary survival sandbox from System Era Softworks, is preparing to make its way out of early access. The game has been played by more than 2 million space explorers so far in early access, and its landscape will be reshaped again for its launch onto Xbox One and PC on Feb 6, 2019.

The game’s full launch will debut a new exploration-focused adventure that will take players to seven brand new planets. There they will face challenges like dangerous flora, treacherous terrain and immense and mysterious structures. Increased character customization options empower every astronaut to showcase their personality as they explore new narrative elements.

System Era Softworks is composed of senior AAA veterans from companies including Bungie, Ubisoft, Disney, Valve and more. Through their collective vision of interplanetary exploration, the team has set out to develop an experience ”where creativity is the only limit”.

Communications director Joe Tirado said of the game “Astroneer reflects on the legacy of human space exploration and imagines the future (…) We want to inspire a sense of wonder and reverence for the beautiful universe we live in, while promoting ideals such as creativity, tackling adversity and outside-the-box thinking.”

Astroneer is currently available on Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Preview for $19.99, but will rise to its final launch price of $29.99 on Nov. 16, 2018 and include a brand new “Retro” suit exclusively for Early Access supporters.
