The Last Campfire

No Man’s Sky developer announce new game, The Last Camp Fire

The short was revealed at The Game Awards.

No Man’s Sky developers announced a new short, The Last Camp Fire at The Game Awards tonight. The puzzle adventure is set to release on PC sometime in the future.

The trailer showcased a bright world described as a ‘Hello Games Short’ with a cute and colourful art direction. In the game, you light campfires as you traverse the darkness around you solving puzzles as you progress.

“From Joe Danger to No Man’s Sky and now The Last Campfire, Hello Games has always made games that are vibrant, beautiful, interesting and different,” Hello Games chief Sean Murray told Venture Beat in a statement. “A while ago the creatives behind LostWinds joined us, and The Last Campfire is their baby. This is a big moment for them, and we’re excited to be able to share in it.”

“We call it a Hello Games Short,” said Murray. “Like Pixar shorts it’s a way to foster creativity and new voices in the studio. We started by making Joe Danger, before No Man’s Sky, and we want to pay forward our success to give others the opportunity to do the same.”

Hello Games has done a significant amount of work on No Man’s Sky over the last few years and it seems like they’re finally at a place to start working on new projects.
