Gaming’s big night brought some exciting news from the creators of Bastion, Transistor and Pyre.
The Game Awards have passed now and among the dozen or so world premiers that were showcased we had a surprise from indie studio Supergiant Games, who announced their new title Hades. The creators of hits like Bastion and Transistor, as well as Pyre, had been pretty quiet through the last couple of months although there were rumours about a new game.
Hades is a rogue-like dungeon crawler with hack and slash combat and the amazing hand drawn art style that Supergiant Games has included in almost every single one of their games. But the biggest surprise was the fact that they’ve decided to release this game on early access and through Epic Games’ newly released store.
In Hades players will defy ancient gods and crawl through dangerous dungeons filled with enemies with classic rogue-like mechanics which will take us back to square one if and when we get killed. Players will be able to upgrade their abilities, get new powers and pick up power ups while they progress through this world.
Hades is available as of today in Early Access while Supergiant Games receives feedback and works towards updates and new content “Expect regular updates with new features, events, characters, places, powers, and more.”, stated the studio.
Hades is out today with a price tag of $19.99 through Epic’s new store.
