SUFFER

Retro FPS SUFFER hits Steam today

Liked Doom, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem? Then you’ll like SUFFER.

One-man indie studio Anarchy Softworks LLC released today its retro-style first-person shooter called SUFFER on PC through Steam. This fast-paced game puts players on a rogue mission to take on the corporate police state the story is set in with ninja-style abilities, a sword and tons of firepower.

SUFFER is a clear homage to foundational titles of the FPS genre from the 1990s like Doom, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem with its classic fast-paced mayhem, challenging scenarios and tons of enemies to take care of all by ourselves, making use of a wide arsenal of guns and ways of shredding everything we see.

But SUFFER is also tainted with some horror elements, with diabolic messages painted on the walls and, as Anarchy Softworks stated, a “post-industrial nightmare theme and punk attitude”. In its latest press release, this one-man studio mentioned a couple of main features for SUFFER:

  • Intense Single Player Campaign
  • 75 Handcrafted Levels – Abstract Design Anarchy
  • Brutal Difficulty For Hardcore Gamers
  • Colorful Sprite Graphics Inspired By 90’s Pixelated Glory
  • Original Punk/Metal Soundtrack

SUFFER

Anarchy Studios had this to say about today’s release:

“It’s been a dream of mine since as long as I can remember to make video games – so it’s a surreal feeling launching SUFFER on Steam, and I couldn’t be more excited! I grew up on a healthy dose of games like Duke3D, Quake, and Blood, but FPS games have changed quite a lot since then. With SUFFER I wanted to make a game that paid tribute to that style, while being unique in terms of gameplay experience. With acrobatic movement, a frenetic mix of sword fighting and gunslinging, and a dystopian horror atmosphere, SUFFER is game meant to challenge and entertain at every turn.”

SUFFER is out today for PC through Steam for a discounted price of USD $8.99 through launch week.
