Insurgency: Sandstorm released on PC today

Modern warfare is at its fastest pace in this new trailer.

After much clamour and a whole beta under its belt, Insurgency: Sandstorm is finally released onto PC today. The sequel to the very successful FPS Insurgency, Insurgency: Sandstorm continues the good work of its debut, expanding, rebranding and improving on the first.

If you’re into violence, boy is this going to be a treat for you. The game centres around team-based tactics and objectives within gameplay, allowing you to compete player versus player, in competitive matchmaking or in co-operative game modes where you play against an AI. All of this is set to a backdrop of an entirely fictional, contemporary Middle Eastern conflict. Your soldier’s appearance, weapons, attachments, armor, and other accessories are all customisable. You can reek havoc however you see fit, by calling in airstrikes, requesting helicopter support, driving vehicles with mounted weapons, or using a wide range of specialist weaponry from grenades to drones to C-4 explosives.

The team behind Insurgency: Sandstorm intend to keep updating the game post launch, just as they improved the launch version after the closed beta and open beta weekend. So, don’t expect that this will be the last you hear of the franchise, there is way more maps, modes and mods to come.
