Miasma Caves, the pacifist roguelike from developers Windy Games, has entered Steam Early Access. The game chooses to focus on exploration and discovery over combat, and players can expect to spend their time in the hunt for treasure rather than blood.

The 3D voxel caves that the protagonist Lesath wanders through are all randomly generated, all with their own secrets, lore and jokes to discover. Lesath is the perfectly cast to be explore these caves as she uses her skills and love of history to find the treasure around her. The more loot she gets, the better her understanding of the treasure becomes. Aswell as her knowledge levels, Lesath’s bartering will also improve as she becomes more knowledgeable about her findings.

While you don’t have to look out for the dangers of combat, you do have to keep an eye on Lesath’s vitality levels, as these will decrease the further she explores. If she falls, items and treasure will be dropped, so watch out for any treacherous edges.

According to Steam, key features of the game include:

  • Race to explore as your health is slowly drained over time
  • Environment based dangers
  • Randomly generated caves, different every time!
  • Diggable caves!
  • 150 or more treasures to find!
  • Learn lore through treasures and secret areas hidden throughout the cave
  • Upgrade the town to unlock new items and bonuses!
