Boost your followers’ faith and take over the neon jungle.
Indie studio Ice Code Games has announced today the release of Re-Legion, an isometric, op-down real-time strategy game set in a cyberpunk world covered by neon lights. Published by 1C Entertainment, Re-Legion is available for PC through both the Steam and GOG platforms.
In Re-Legion players take the role of Prophet Elion, a power-thirsty cult leader with one goal: convert as many citizens as possible to his religion, punish those who oppose him and spread his reach ever more widely. Each player will set the core beliefs and premises of their custom religions and start collecting the main resource in the game, faith. The other main currency in this title are “CryptoCredits”, with which upgrades can be purchased.
As in any cyberpunk universe, hacking is present in Re-Legion, through which players can expand their control through different territories. But this is an RTS, so there’s obviously fighting. Converted citizens will be part of their armies, fighting both non-believers and opposers of their regime.
“Re-Legion is a unique strategy game that transports players to a dystopian world where their decisions matter, both in a tactical and moral sense,” said Nikolay Baryshnikov, CEO of 1C Entertainment through the game’s latest press release. “As Elion, players can achieve power through many methods, including conversion, hacking, combat, upgrades, and special abilities—the choice of how humane or brutal the approach is yours to make”, he added.
As listed in today’s release, these are Re-Legion’s main features:
- Unique RTS mechanic where new units are acquired by converting citizens into followers
- Vivid futuristic cyberpunk visuals and dark atmosphere
- Mature story that offers profound background and moral choices
- Build your own cult using an original Dogmas system that ensures replayability
- Special territory control mechanics incorporating hacking techniques
Re-Legion is available as of today through Steam and GOG with a 10% discount price tag of $17.99 / €16.19. The game’s soundtrack is also for sale at USD $3.99, as well as a digital art book for USD $2.99.
