Haunted PS1 game Hollow Head makes block-y graphics scary again

The bleak horror takes us back to a darker and more blocky time.

Hollow Head comes out today – the PS1-style horror game that gets under your skin. Designed with retro graphics in mind, this creepy exploration through whispering vents and corridors is a masterclass in eerie.

Originally made for a “Haunted PS1” game jam, Hollow Head has been considerably fleshed out for its Steam release. Backed up with lore and enough content to fill a solid hour, the game uses modern lighting in a blocky world to sinister effect.

Hollow Head follows a self-proclaimed “good samaritan” who hears a scream from his garbage chute. In true horror game style, he decides to check it out, finding himself in a complex reality where nothing is the same. 

With relatively little information regarding the release, prospective fans have been teased with the knowledge that “something is wrong”. It’s up to you to find out what is going on in this dingy apartment, with only a candle as your guide.
