Baldur’s Gate 3 Should Be Playable This Year

Does this smell like tentacles to you?

It’s no secret that Larian Studios is one of the best out there when it comes to RPG games. Just look at Divinity: Original Sin 2, a game so absurdly good that it helped bring back the western RPG and make them all cool and sexy again, not unlike Fane.

Well, you might know that they’re currently working on Baldur’s Gate 3, a game which we currently know very little about, or at least, we did. We’ll be finding out more when they do a global gameplay reveal on Thursday 27th. It’s an exciting time for nerds of all forms because whether you’re a Baldur’s Gate fan or not, a new Larian game can only be a good thing. Well, it turns out there’s already been some good news on the game, it’s just not come from Larian themselves.

Instead, during an investor event at the New York Toy Fair, Hasbro was kind enough to say that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be releasing this year, albeit in Early Access. This was reported on by Dark Side of Gaming and is incredibly exciting if it’s true. Early Access might seem like an odd choice for a game like this, but given that this is exactly how Divinity: Original Sin 2 originally released, you can rest assured that we’ll be getting a quality product even in Early Access.
