Now with 100% more punching
Yes, I know that if you have 100% more of 0%, then it’s still 0%, but it’s a good line, and I’m sticking with it. Anyway, it’s that time once again when Hades somehow gets even better. This time around, we gain access to the rather wonderful Twin Fists of Malphon, great big gauntlets that let you combo your prey into pulp. That’s probably a good enough reason to drag most fans back in, but it’s also good to see that we’ll see Nyx with her hood down too. Now, Nyx is a very important character in the game, but she’s always been on the sidelines, so it’s nice to see her featuring a bit more prominently.
On top of that, there are new talents to unlock, new rooms to find, and new chambers to work your way through. If you’ve not played Hades, you really should. Despite being in Early Access, it’s one of the best roguelikes around at the moment, and certainly has one of the best soundtracks thanks to the offensively talented Darren Korb. It’s got incredibly slick gameplay, a wonderful variety of playstyles thanks to the different weapons, and also everyone is hot.
There are bound to be another update or so before the game comes out of Early Access, but it’s also beginning to feel a lot like we could be nearing the end of this little Early Access journey. It’s likely that the last update will be very story-heavy, so if you’re looking to get in on the ground level, now is the best possible time to do so. What are you waiting for? Go play it.
