You Should Play The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth

Are you my mummy?

“Oh what a surprise, he’s writing about roguelikes again”. Look, yeah, alright, I talk about roguelikes a lot, but also, they’re really good. It’d also be nigh-on-criminal to spend so much time talking about this, the one true genre, without putting a little more time into The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. It’s one of the most prolific roguelikes around, and the chances are that even if you haven’t played it, you’ve heard of it.

The Binding of Isaac has a messed up story, somewhat grotesque gameplay, and an incredibly satisfying system of progression. There’s challenges, daily runs, a nearly endless supply of unlockable items, and the occasional moment where you become so overpowered that the whole game becomes a joke. It’s legitimately one of the best games around, and if you’ve not played it then now is a really good time to jump into the game. This is true of all platforms but is especially true on PC.

The reason that now is the right time to play The Binding Of Isaac is the incredible, and rather well named, Stay Inside Bundle. This bundle contains every version of The Binding of Isaac you could ever want as well as The End is Nigh, The Legend of Bum-Bo, and a few other great games from Edmund McMillen and friends. It’s currently sitting at £14.80 for the whole thing, which is down from the full price fo £119.37. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better offer out there at the moment, and I can promise you that you’ll find staying inside a little bit easier because of it.
