Landlord’s Super Is House Flipper With Beer
Probably not a hero
Sometimes the best way to start something is to let it speak for itself. That’s why trailers are good, but that’s not always enough. I don’t do this very often, but I want you to read how Landlord’s Super describes itself on Steam: “Your quintessential construction simulator is here. Take a dodgy loan, restore a property, move in the locals, attend to their grievances, then celebrate with a pint in this fully-simulated, open-world 1980’s Britain.”
That’s a description that hits both what you’re going to be doing, some of the quirks of the game itself, and also a little bit about the gameplay. It’s kind of perfect, and I love it. Landlord’s Super seems like the anti-hero to the superhero that you’ll find in a game like House Flipper. It seems like a starker and more honest look at an industry which inherently profits off of other people being alive.
It takes place in a tumultuous era as well, as the 1980s were Thatcher’s time in power, which wasn’t exactly a great time to be in the UK, at least if you were in the north, or not rich. It’s a bit like now really, but more honest. As such, it’s quite plausible that you’ll be doing far more than just renovating houses. Maybe there’ll be some lessons to be learned here, or maybe your character will be too drunk on power/alcohol to even notice. Either way though, it’ll be an interesting one to play when it enters Early Access on Steam on April 30th.
