Now with 100% more drama
Star Renegades looks a bit like Neon Genesis Evangelion, and to be honest, that’s more than enough reason to check it out. You control a group of rebels who are trying to crush a vicious empire in their quest to make a better universe for everyone. While not too much has been shown off about the more specific elements of the story, the game has oodles of style, and that’s an excellent starting point.
Aside from the cool setting, the thing that seems to be most interesting about Star Renegades is the combat systems. While it’s hard to know all of the intricacies, the term tactical roguelite RPG is more than enough to get me basically shouting at random people in the street to see if I can get my hands on it sooner. There are lots of characters to meet and fight with, the ability to create progenies, and big bad mechs to space punch in the face.
I’ve no idea how many hours I’m destined to lose to this rather beautiful game, but I’m certain it’s going to be a lot. Every gif on the Steam page is stunning, every word describing it is something specifically for me, and while I know I’m not everyone, I’m also certain that a lot of people will be incredibly excited about this game. Star Renegades is heading to Steam on September 8th, but it’ll be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year too.
