Bug Out In A Surreal World In Metamorphosis

It’s a bug’s life, after all

Metamorphosis starts with you waking up and finding out that your friend is being arrested for reasons you’re unsure of. Oh, also you seem to be turning into a tiny bug. It’s not ideal, is it? We’ve all woken up on the wrong side of the bed, but most of us haven’t been turned into bugs for doing so. Well, this is the fate that has befallen Gregor, and it’ll be up to you to help him through a Kafka inspired world.

That means you’ll be adventuring through surreal landscapes, meet absurd characters, and even have the pleasure of adjusting to life through the eyes of a bug. Well, at least the point of view of a bug, seeing as a bug does would make the game very tricky indeed. The good news is that you can do all of the things that a bug can do, which means climbing up walls, running around, and presumably ending up near people’s ears as they sleep in order to make sure they never sleep again.

It’s a genuinely fascinating looking game, and I’m quite intrigued by the way it warps not only our world but the smaller parts of it into an almost nightmarish landscape. That’s not even including the fact that the trailer is incredible and shows off just how big the difference is between you and a human being. You can live your smallest life when Metamorphosis releases on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 12th.
