Scavengers Could Be The Next Big Sandbox Game

Scavengers is a game that’s had a lot of excitement around it since it was announced. Despite that, it kind of fell off of the planet for a little bit, but it’s back with a new trailer, and it’s looking better than ever. Set on a desolate world, you play as one of the few survivors of the human race. You left the Earth because the Moon shattered and the earth ended up freezing over as a horrific virus was released.

Now under the control of an AI called Mother, humanity has to do as she says if they want to survive, and that means fighting against each other for some reason? I’m sure it makes sense in the context of the game, but it’s an odd one without it. The key thing is that you’ll not only be fighting off against other players in this free-to-play shooter, but you’ll be fighting against the world itself as the environment tries to kill you. There’s also the small matter of the mutants roaming around, all of whom are pretty excited about the idea of ending life, especially yours.

You’ll have to use everything at your disposal to survive in this world, and that means finding a squad to team up with and relying on each other as much as possible. The game promises to change over time too, which means that you’ll want to stick around seeing how the world changes if you want the full story here. There’s no word on a release date for Scavengers, but it’s coming soon apparently, so that’s nice.
