I have, as is often the case, been playing some games with my friends recently. However, this time around it comes via the rather excellent Game Pass, because god damn is that a lot of value. As a result of this, I’ve been playing games I wouldn’t normally bother with, and the best one of the bunch is Minecraft Dungeons. It’s not the best because it’s the most complex or the prettiest, but because it has the chillest vibe, and that’s exactly what I need after this year.
Minecraft Dungeons is a Diablo-esque game that has you saving the world from the Archillager. It’s a nonsense story, but for fans of Minecraft in general it has a lot of little nods and effects that you will love. The gameplay is pretty simple, you’ve got an attack button, a ranged button, some special moves, and a dodge. All of those can change based on your equipment, and finding a good build and really hammering it home is a huge amount of fun.
It’s also got loads to do, daily quests, loads of upgrades to find, cross-play, and again, is free on Game Pass. It also has local co-op, and everything is simple enough that people who don’t game regularly will be able to enjoy it. That makes it one of the most perfect games for this holiday season, because not everyone games, but maybe they want to game. So yeah, go ahead and play this with your friends and family, okay?
