The Crackpet Show

It’s a cartoonish murder fest in The Crackpet Show

The Crackpet Show is what you get by turning the crudest cartoon of yesteryears, Happy Tree Friends, into a playable reality TV show, where you’ll need to gut your enemies for the shot at fame. Cartoon gore are galore in this bullet-hellish adventure: the short of it is that society has collapse due to an apocalyptic event, turning the surface into a hazardous mess. Even the cutest of creatures have been mutated into beastly savages, now known as The Crackpets, who can only satisfy their bloodlust by exacting carnage on other critters—or against one another.

You’ll play as one of four champions—Bunny, Cowie, Rusty and Sharky—as you’re tossed into an arena filled with countless dangers, from deadly traps and explosives to other antagonistic creatures shooting at you for sport. These battles will be conducted in a series of stages, and true enough to the reality TV-esque aspect of the game, the only way to proceed to the next is not only to stay alive, but to garner as many “likes” as possible from studio audiences.

There is also a co-op element to The Crackpet Show as well, so you can probably grab a friend or two and survive the dangers together—only to backstab them at the end of every round. Of course, there are ghastly bosses to conquer too; a feat that you’ll most likely be unable to accomplish on your own.

The Crackpet Show does somewhat resemble the fast-paced mayhem of brawl-together roguelike Crawl, but with a gory, cartoonish twist. If you’re feeling nostalgic for good old adult Sunday cartoons, The Crackpet Show will be available on Steam this summer.
