Survive the wintry cold and mutated wildlife in FRIGID
Surviving the glacial cold of the Arctic winter—along with all the extremities of harsh climate conditions—is already arduous enough. But in Frigid, a narrative-driven survival horror that’s set during a cataclysmic event that has turned the world into a deeply uninhabitable place, even the wildlife have mutated into some more beastial and aggressive, as they gnaw away at your chances of survival.
True to the “survival” aspect in Frigid’s wintry survival horror, you’ll need to do whatever it takes to survive the frigid cold—be it scavenging for resources such as wood for fires, to building temporary shelters against ever-changing conditions—with a variety of tools at your disposal, such as axes and flare guns. But you’ll also need to look out for infected beasts, with wolves, bears and even reindeers hungrily prowling about in search of their next prey. As you progress and meet up with other survivors, you’ll probably also unravel the mystery behind the vicious wildlife—and the strange virus that’s changing them.
But beyond just staying alive against the relentless forces of nature, the tundra and wilderness of the Arctic is awe-inspiring and grandiose in all its stark white chilliness. Like sights of the snow-capped mountainous terrains amd fir trees weighed down by falling snow that’re interspersed with gory scenes of half-eaten animal carcasses—sometimes abandoned in the forest, and other times preserved within frozen lakes and icebergs.
Frigid will be released sometime this year, with a free demo available right now on Steam. There’s also some chatter about a Kickstarter campaign in its press release, but as of this writing, there doesn’t seem to be any.
