Little Nightmares Complete Edition now on Switch
Face your fears in this well-received horror platformer.

Little Nightmares is a great little horror game. So great in fact, that we included it in the top third of our list of the 100 greatest indie games of all time. And so, whether you’ve played it already or whether you’re just hearing about it now, good news: you can now buy it on Nintendo Switch!
Little Nightmares sees the player getting ‘up close and personal’ with the residents of the Maw, a vessel in the form of a kind of giant doll’s house, full of evil spirits on the hunt for their prey. Your job is to play as one of the two main characters, called Six and the Kid, to get out of the dollhouse alive, by taking cover and sneaking throught the shadows.
But this game is first and foremost a 3D puzzle platfomer, so it will have you using your intellect to get through the dollhouse, with a different puzzle to solve in each room which you must beat in order to get out. But be warned, you could find yourself failing in this goal and dying many times before you manage it, although the puzzles themselves are not usually super difficult.
The Switch version has been retailored for its new platform, and comes with full HD rumble support for Joy-Con controllers. As it’s the complete edition, it includes as standard the content from what was previously the Secret of the Maw expansion pack. Players will be able to access an exclusive Pakku mask which can be unlocked in the extras menu once a pac-man amiibo is scanned.
Little Nightmares was made by Tarsier Studios, based in Sweden. The Steam version got reveiws of 81/100 on Metacritic and won the Beyond Pixels award for Best Indie Game back in 2016. Many players report that the atmosphere and visuals are the main attraction more than the puzzle solving but recognise its uniquely spooky, if not exactly ‘scary’, depiction of a child’s nightmare.
