Quirky platformer Epic Loon gets release date

Macrales Studio’s offbeat tribute to classic sci-fi movies comes out next month.

Publisher Ukuza in conjunction with developer Macrales Studio recently announced that quirky platformer Epic Loon will be releasing on June 28th after three years in development.

Epic Loon is a homage to classic 80s and 90s sci-fi films that sees players lead a group of aliens who take control of Joe’s TV after they are rudely awakened from their hibernation inside an old-school VHS-tape. It’s stylised with a grainy VHS aesthetic reminiscent of the era taking players on a destructive adventure through main antagonists Joe’s retro film collection.

The game features a story mode that has up to 4-player couch co-op, but also accommodates for those willing to go it alone. There’s also a battle mode that sees your alien allies from the story become your sworn enemies as you race against the clock to come out on top.

“I’m really proud of what we’ve done. In my 10 years of experience, I think it’s the first time we’ve put all we wanted in a game. We really crafted it with our heart and guts and that’s the most important for me.” said Wax Devoghelaere, CEO of Macrales Studio.

Look out for Epic Loon on PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on the 28th of June, 2018.
