Why You Should Be Excited For Moving Out

Couch co-op is a damn good pun

Moving Out is basically what happens when you take the chaos of Overcooked and decide to make a living out of moving furniture instead. At least, that’s definitely how it looks. It’s also full of puns and dad jokes, just full of the damn things. Maybe that’s not for you, maybe you’re some kind of monster who doesn’t love puns, but this isn’t for you, this is for the people who are ready to have a good time.

It features a colourful cast of characters, some of whom might be frogs or sentient toasters that have Head Crabbed their way onto human bodies, but they all look like they’re having a good time. You can pick any of them, and you can even have them working in a wheelchair, which is a lovely little touch to include more people. So, that’s nice.

The game itself has you taking furniture from one place, lifting it, and putting it down somewhere else. The thing that makes the gameplay so special though is the physics. You can simply remove that door in your way if you hit it hard enough, and that makes for some creative answers to the game’s puzzles. Plus, it’s nice to be able to vent a little aggression sometimes. Also, there seems to be a giraffe for some reason? I’m not sure I’d class a giraffe as a piece of furniture, but I guess we can all find out what that’s all about when Moving Out releases on April 28th.
