Put on your detective hat in Frog Detective 3
This could be one of the most important news I’m breaking this year: the stellar Frog Detective series has announced a brand new and final chapter called Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County. Working with the best detective of all time, Frog Detective (the second best detective) is here to solve the bloodcurdling mystery of a sheriff-less county.
The infamous notebook mechanic of the second case—The Case of the Invisible Wizard—also makes a return in Corruption at Cowboy County too. It’s arguably the most compelling aspect of the game, as you get to decorate your own dandy notebook with artisanal, exquisite stickers, while writing down observations such as “Cool guy!” and “I have a good attitude!” about your cases.
In all honesty, the whimsical charm of the Frog Detective series lies in both its earnestness and goofiness, as well as the wholesome joy of seeing a handsome frog solving crimes and investigating seemingly macabre cases with an odd cast of anthropomorphic characters. Carrying out your investigations, too, really doesn’t require that much of a keen eye or a sharp mind; sometimes it’s all about stumbling upon the right solutions and the appropriate ingredients at the most opportune time. In the series’ first case—in which you delve into the spoopy mystery of a haunted island—have you’ll have to put together a bomb made out of household and common items, such as a spaghetti or a banana.
In fact, the developers themselves say it best in this line: “If you’re looking for hard-hitting detective work, you’ve clicked on the wrong store page.”
You’ve either been warned—or charmed. Find out more about Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County on Steam, which is seeing a release this year.
