Mahokenshi Is An Exciting Upcoming Strategy Card Game

A good card game is hard to beat. In fact, the hyperfocus on mechanics that they often bring makes card games some of the best in the industry. It’s so easy to think about new ways of approaching any problem they throw at you because you’ve got all of the tools in front of you. It allows you to properly consider how you should adapt to the challenges ahead of you. It’s no surprise that they’re all so damn moreish.

Well, Mahokenshi is an upcoming strategy game where you get to become a samurai mage, and build your deck as you explore the beautiful Celestial Islands. It’s an incredibly cool-looking game, which is nice, but it also looks as though it could be an interesting new take on the card game. While we’ve seen a couple of card-based strategy games before, they’ve never quite looked like Mahokenshi. The focus here seems to be far more about strategy than simply moving around a map, and it’s exciting.

There are four houses to choose from, over three hundred cards to find, loads of enemies, and plenty of treasure and secrets to uncover too. We love card games here at The Indie Game Website, but it still takes a fair bit to pique our interest like this. The game is set to launch in early 2022, and frankly, that can’t come soon enough. Now we’ve just got to figure out what to do for the next four or five months. Does anyone need a deck of cards shuffling?
